Enfin, mon métier me passionne.
As a clinical and social psychologist and sexologist, I specialize in trauma, the effects of violence, and interpersonal relationships.
I have always been fascinated by understanding human behavior, so pursuing a career in psychology felt like a natural choice. I am particularly interested in issues relating to justice and reparation, intercultural psychology, and relationship dynamics. Most of my professional experience has been in the judicial field, working within various services supporting and assisting people involved in legal proceedings, as well as in a family planning centre, where I currently continue to practice.
It is important to me to offer a caring, warm, empathetic, non-judgmental, and, above all, safe space in which I can support you through whatever you may be going through.
There are, in fact, many different reasons why someone might seek the support of a psychologist and/or sexologist, and no reason is more or less important than another.
My role is to support you in identifying what you are looking for, trying to understand what you are going through, making sense out of it, and initiating changes when necessary. For me, the consultation space is one that we co-create together—you and I. Trust and feeling comfortable with one another are therefore essential. In the way I work, I see the first two sessions as an opportunity to meet and get to know each other. I try to gain as clear an understanding as possible of the reasons that have brought you to see me, but above all, these sessions are an opportunity to see whether a relationship of trust can develop between us.
If, for one reason or another, you do not feel that the connection is right, please do not hesitate to say so. There are many wonderful colleagues at PsyCol and elsewhere whom I can refer you to. Likewise, I am aware of my own limits, and if I feel that your needs fall outside my area of expertise, I will support you in finding another colleague who is better suited to accompanying you.
I would also describe my approach as “integrative”. This means that I draw on different theoretical approaches within psychology, each of which has its own strengths and limitations.I try to adapt them to each individual’s situation. For me, an integrative approach means that rather than focusing only on the psychological or intrapersonal dimension; I also take into account all the different dimensions in which a person exists and evolves—physical, material, systemic, societal, political.
I would also add that I am a therapist who “talks things through.” In order to understand and support you as well as possible, I engage in dialogue, ask questions, and, when appropriate, may also take a more active role alongside you. Of course, I adapt my approach according to the person in front of me and the way they function, within the limits of what is possible for me.
In addition, because I always want to continue learning, developing my skills, and diversifying my clinical practice, I am currently training in hypnotherapy.
Finally, I am truly passionate about my profession. Naturally curious about others, I approach every new encounter with enthusiasm. I find that witnessing a person’s development between their first and last session is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences this profession has to offer.
Leave us a message and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
